10 March 2008: 5 year old child accidentally set fire on mattress

The Dutch online newspaper “Zuid Holland- Blik op nieuws” reported today about a fire that was accidentally started

by a five year old child playing with a gas lighter in Oud-Beijerland (The Netherlands).

 
While playing with a gas lighter, the child, who was sitting on a mattress suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns in his neck.

 
The mother of the child luckily could extinguish the fire which was starting to spread.

 
After the accident, the family is now in shock thinking that it could have been a lot worse if the mother was not around

at the time of the accident.
